Transition Watersports and Centurion Boats
were on hand for the Rolex 24 Hour race in Daytona. Centurion
came prepared to make it's presence known with the 90'ft
NASCAR display rig shinning brightly in the center of
the track's infield Fan Zone, next to Victory Lane.
Guests
of the event were provided plenty of high flying wakeboard
action on Lake Lloyd throughout the weekend from Team
Centurion athletes. Many of the major television networks
also aired portions of the water performances and boats
between the racing action and commercials.
Everyone
knows nothing builds camaraderie quite like boat-ownership,
and so a bond was formed between Centurion Boats and the
teams of Michael Shank Racing. Ian James, one of the drivers
behind the wheel of the No. 6 Rolex Prototype sponsored
by Westfield Insurance, cruises a Centurion Enzo SV220
on Lake Hartwell when he's not taking laps around the
track.
Ian
led the pack for over 100 laps during the Rolex 24, and
both the No. 6 and No. 60 cars officially finished in
the top 10 of the Daytona Prototype results. Centurion
is very proud to have been there to support these two
teams.

Dec 1st, 2007 - Lake Ivanhoe Tournament
The event in downtown Orlando on Lake Ivanhoe could not
have neen better. The weather was perfect, water glassy
all day and tons of activities going on around the lake
during the comp. We had some serious talent show up for
the advanced and outlaw divisions which made it tough
on the judges in the boat. A BMX stunt show went down
in the parking lot. The Orlando Wakeboard Academy raffled
off free lessons at there camp with one on one coaching
with team Centurion rider Sean O'brien. Centurion team
riders Sean O'brien and Adam Fields put on an unbelievable
demo with tricks like toe 9's and technical inverts. Look
for more events on Lake Ivanhoe coming soon! Big thanks
to our sponsors for helping Transition Watersports make
it happen with Ronix, Centurion, Jetpilot, Straightline,
WetSounds, Liguid Force, DNA Energy Drinks, Orlando Wakeboard
Academy and the BMX team.

March 20, 2007 Rider Update: What’s Drew Been Up To?
Inbetween a busy competition and coaching schedule, Centurion
team rider, Drew Danielo finds time to give us a sneak
peek at a wakesurfing video coming out soon…
About five months ago, I received a call
from Cherie Kloss, a film producer with MLC WakeFilms
from Atlanta, who enjoys wakesurfing. She told me that
she and her partner had made a “How to Wakesurf”
DVD. She explained that they wanted to make a more advanced
video and asked if I was interested in being a part of
it. I thought, with all I have learned in the past few
years about boats and contest criteria, it would be a
great way for me to give back to the sport. So, with that
said, we set a shooting date for February 23-26, 2007.
We
were shooting on Lake Weir in Ocala, FL, which is the
home to Centurion dealer Transition Watersports. I drove
up Thursday night to meet with fellow Centurion rider
Travis Propst. We went out for some wakeboarding and wakeskating
on Friday afternoon, and come Saturday morning, it was
time for business. Shooting and editing the video was
done by Matt Staker and Jordy Klein, both amazing video
producers and all-around great guys. We had Shane Miller
and Compound Cory shooting the still shots.
The shoot went great and also featured
riding by Brent Crofut and Jessica Oswald, 2x Womens Open
World Wake Surfing Champion. Throughout the whole weekend,
there was tons of good surfing, great food, and good times
by all. We even had a little late night calendar shoot
for fun. It was hilarious! Anyways, check out the video,
Wakesurf Instruction, Vol. I and Vol. II, when it hits
shelves, or pre-order your copy at www.sidewayz.com .
There are some really cool angles from the chase boat
and Jordy’s pole cam. They even used a remote controlled
helicopter equipped with a mini-DV camera for overhead
shots.
I
would like to thank: Cherie and friends for the great
food and the opportunity to do this video, Matt, Jordy,
Shane, Cory, Nate, Travis, Brent, and Jessica for the
great weekend, Ten-80 for the gift package to set us up
with some fresh gear, and, of course, Centurion Boats
for all the support over the past 3 years and for making
an amazing boat.~ Drew Danielo
